Growing fast

Yesterday Nix wrote his name all by himself on a Valentine card. Only once, he did it, then wanted to scribble it out, and I luckily got a picture of it. Then he wouldn't do it again, cuz he didn't think he did it very well. We went to the gym this morning and I was on the elliptical machine, when I looked over and saw Nix red faced, down turned lips, and tears welling up in his eyes. I jumped off the machine and ran to him and asked, "What's wrong?" He couldn't hardly speak and motioned to his private area, and then just began to quietly cry as I hugged him. I asked, "You hurt your private?" and he nodded in affirmation. He cracked his "business" for the first time. Oooooh!

Tino is 9 months old, he weighs roughly 18 lbs. He is sitting, crawling, standing, and splashing a whole lot in the tub now. He can balance on his feet for a few seconds before he lowers himself to the floor. He crawls very quickly. His favorite places to play are behind the toilets (in the toilet if I let him), in the fridge, at the dvd player, in the cupboard under the kitchen sink, and at the bath/shower edge. He loves to pull himself up toward things. He has 5 teeth (I've just finished a third session of soreness from nursing). We are good now. He doesn't like baby food. Today he ate a pureed soup I made (with chicken broth, onions, cabbage, garlic and carrots) heated up apple sauce, two animal crackers, baked potatoes, steamed zucchini, puffs and barley baby cereal. Yesterday I mashed a yam with soy milk, which I helped him eat! I'm feeding him everything but the strict no no's and nursing 5 times a day. He loves blueberries and raspberries. But sometimes he only wants 4 bites of something, then he wants to play in it and throw it around. He knows that if he cries next to or at Nix that his mommy will come to the rescue. He is very stubborn. If the front door is open he bolts toward it, and if it is shut before he reaches it he will yell at the door closer.
