Nine Years

Mr and Mrs Brett Bergener~
Our Introduction 9 years ago as we exited the LA Temple as husband and wife,
sealed eternally together forever. I love you Brett!
We made it to #9.
It hasn't been easy but it has definitely been worth it! I know there are a few more trials, some lessons, and a lot more love to be had in the years to come. I couldn't be the wife and mother that I know I need to be without the guidance that I receive from my Father in Heaven and through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with modern day prophets. I am so fortunate! I love Brett, and I love these precious children that are sealed to us too. Nix has a look that makes him seem so old to me, a lot of the time I just start to smile and realize that he is so little still, so smart, but still so little. He asks questions all the time, and I love answering the questions he asks, I feel so smart as I explain things in the most detail I can, which obviously creates more questions. Tino makes me smile as he explains things to me in his language that hasn't been created before. Maybe other 2 year olds would understand him perfectly. I also smile when I stop and think, this being inside me will be outside me really soon. Terrifying, but WONDERFUL! I'm excited. Nine years and counting!!

We celebrated by sending the kids to play at their wonderful Aunt Amy and Uncle James' house. Then we enjoyed a nice dinner out at Salt Creek Grill. It was fun talking and laughing just the two of us. We ordered a bunch of stuff and shared everything including my favorite chocolate souffle, they gave us a cake with a candle in it to blow out. We wished for a better year together than the years passed. It really keeps getting better. Our dates are always so fun, you really appreciate them more when you have kids too. My wisdom to share with married people: be selfless, forgiving, and keep dating!! Life can always be better with hard work and a whole lot of LOVE!

If you haven't noticed

Brett has become a very active poster on our blog. This is fun for me, cuz I get to see the videos he is working on and the pictures he has in his phone. I'm so grateful for his active roll here and hope it continues forever! Thanks hunny! I love you! Maybe I need to change it to Our Story, Our Joy. What do you think? Should I give it some time to make sure it sticks?

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Brett, Bill, Dad and all the other Father's in my life.
I was able to spend Father's Day with the father of my children, whom I love dearly! We also worshipped our Father in Heaven by going to church with my father. After church we went with my father over to see the graves of his father and his mother's father. He didn't have a vase, so I dug a hole and stuck the flowers in the hole. Haha! I think it was a pretty successful Father's Day!
"I'm so glad when daddy comes home, Glad as I can be; Clap my hands and shout for joy, Then Climb upon his knee, Put my arms around his neck, Hug him tight like this, Pat his cheeks, then give him what? A great big kiss." ~Anonymous, Children's Songbook

My Mother's Day

Every Mother's Day we go to church and the church is great because they do something with the kids for their mom (Nix made a little snack mix with the poem above, and said it was for everyone to share).  At church the Priesthood sings and hands out a treat.  This year we were at our old CC2 ward and they handed out a rose and a chocolate bar.  They also had brownies for us in Relief Society and the teacher brought cream puffs.  Tino couldn't hold still in class so we went in the hall and the young women were making chocolate covered strawberries in the kitchen, so I had a few of those.  Then they were writing notes to their mom, so I took a note card and wrote in it for my mom.  It was a very SWEET Mother's day.  Especially because after church we went to my mom's and she had cinnamon rolls and blueberry muffins.  Since we live close to my mom we went out there to have dinner with her.  She made the dinner... which was nice and unexpected and delicious.

When I asked Nix what the paper above was, he said, pointing to it, "It says I... LOVE... YOU."
Nix got ahold of my chocolate bar and opened the right side, then the next day Tino got ahold of it and opened and nibbled on the left side.  I have a couple chocolate lover boys, but I ate the whole thing myself.
