Casper Wilderness Park

We hiked an equestrian/hiking trail. It was short, but fun, we crossed a stream 4 times and by the 4th time, most of our shoes were wet. Nix's shoes were completely soaked. He wanted help across the last stream crossing and I said, you can do it, and sort of pressured him to hurry cuz Tino was taking off without us, so he went across and hurried, and his shoes went in a few times, but he didn't fall, which I was impressed and glad about, he made me laugh, but he cried, he wanted my help and didn't want his shoes wet. One of my shoes was wet, so I guess I didn't want to have to cross the stream again, I should have helped him. We stay together really well, Nix is a big help to me. There are signs warning us of mountain lions everywhere, so we read the "What you do if you see a mountain lion" paper, then we stay together and hike and enjoy being outside, but every little critter I hear definitely captures my attention. Nix saw some tad poles for the first time today. He was very curious about them, and I don't think he really believed me that they were baby frogs, but it does seem sort of strange that they would turn into frogs. I will have to find a book about frogs for him at the library.

We went swimming when we got home, and then I let Nix play games on my phone while I laid down with Tino, so I had a 30 minute nap, then woke up and did laundry, made bread, Nix helped me make granola bars and then when Brett came home I left to join a friend at a Thomas Jefferson Education meeting. We are still unsure of what type of education Nix will receive, but we're sort of leaning on a Spanish Immersion School. We will see.
