Playing in the sand all day long... you start to appear like a sand monster!
Oreo Cookies!
Sunscreen in the eyes... so annoying.
Tino walked around the campsites and Nix rode his bike. They went non stop until they passed out at the end of the day.
Funny Story above. Shane didn't have a place to sleep and I had brought a one man tent with me for who knows what reason. So Shane set it up and slept in it. The next morning Vanessa said, "What? Did the tent collapse with you inside it?" Shane said, "Funny you would bring that up." Then he proceeded to tell us the horrific nightmare he had during the night. There is a train track near the campground and when the train came by he was dreaming that he was stuck on the train tracks and couldn't get out so he was thrashing in the tent and when he realized what was really happening he tried to set the tent back up until he realized that he had snapped the rod holding it up. So he finished his night sleep in the back of his dad's truck. He apologized and that was the end of that. Brett and I had great trips spent in that tent together. I guess those days are over. The days of a two man tent may have begun. We slept in this tent on Oahu camping on the North Shore, and on Mount Whitney camping half way up in that little tent.
We haven't been to Carpinteria for a long time. Sophi reserved 3 campsites, I think 6 months ago, for our mom's side of the family. We weren't all together... but close enough. Brett couldn't make it because it was too far of a commute for work. So I packed the boys and myself and left Tuesday afternoon and spent 3 nights in a 5 man tent. We had a good time. Tino slept well in the tent with his blankets. Nixon and I were in sleeping bags. All three days were completely different. The first day was overcast until about 2pm then the sun came out and it was beautiful. The second day was super hot, and soooo clear. We could see all the islands. Nix spent the entire day at the beach playing in the sand, the sun was beaming all day so the sand was very hot at the beach and around the campsite. And the third day was raining. So Nix spent the morning riding his bike in the rain and having the time of his life. Tino was wet for about half the morning until I dried him and band him to the tent to play. We spent the morning packing up then we all went to Duke's to have lunch. We came home with a wet and muddy tent and loads of laundry.
We had SO MUCH FUN!

We missed you out here last week! But Rossi is growing up so fast - he is so cute.
Glad you guys had fun, but that's too bad about the tent. LOL! We just had our first 'camping' trip this weekend.
