I love where we live!

This morning I showered before Brett left to work, which I don't do very often.  The boys were up and ready to go at 9 am and we left for frisbee park, with a little orange hard plastic frisbee.  I thought I knew were the park was, but for some reason I think we went to the wrong park.  There was a lot of construction going on, so maybe it just looked different, and there weren't any frisbee baskets.  Oh, well.  We threw the frisbee into the soccer nets.  Nix accidently threw it over the fence, and it landed on the grass next to a not so busy street.  He ran around the fence, and instead of running back with it, he was trying to through it back over the fence, and this is where the accident happened.  He threw it and it went right into the middle of the street.   So, I headed around the fence.  In the meantime Tino is just happy playing in the grass by the soccer net.  Not one car has passed by yet, and when I'm almost to the frisbee, here comes a car.  It looked like it was going to straddle the bright orange frisbee in the middle of the street, but it hit it, dead on.  The frisbee exploded into 4 pieces and I went and picked up the pieces and threw them in the trash.  What is wrong with people?  Did you do it on purpose or did you just not see that BRIGHT orange frisbee?  I yelled with frustration, "Some people are so Stupid!"  And Nix, standing next to me says, "We don't say stupid."  I felt justified that this was a perfect time to use the word "stupid."  I don't know if I should have, but I told him that I can use that word right now.  Ahhhh!  Well, we packed up the car, ate some watermelon and got over it.

Off to music makers we went.  Our ward has a group of moms and kids that meet together once a week to sing songs together, with puppets and instruments and fun interactive motions.  Then the mom who signed up will read books and share snacks with everyone after the music.  The kids just love it!  As I was leaving a spider started descending my open window on a web.  I backed away from it, knocked the web with a cliff bar I had in my hand and exclaimed, "What do I do?"  Trina, a friend from the ward, was walking right passed my window, pulled the web out of my car, flung it on the ground and stepped on the spider.  My hero!  :)

From there we went to Fashion Island to spend some money.  Not really, we found a gift for Brett for Father's day.  Nix spent time at the Koi pond

and tried on lots of lotions and sprays at Bath and Body Works.  Then Tino woke up from a short nap and we headed over to a huge, beautiful fountain,

which overlooks a view of the ocean.

The boys played for a while near this fountain before Tino lost it, and we left.

The weather today was warm with a cool breeze, just perfect for being out and about.  So next we went to The District and picked up some desperately needed items at Target, like body wash, dental floss and a new toothbrush for Nix.  He picked out a spiderman toothbrush that lights up.  So at Costco he showed everyone that would talk to him, his new toothbrush and told them "It doesn't turn on all the time".  I pushed the boys in my jeep, one person stroller at Target, Tino on Nix's lap.

Tino had a chocolate cliff bar that ended up all around his mouth, which landed him a few smiles.  While I was pushing the stroller down an isle the back left wheel started to fall off.  What?!  So I pushed it back into place and carefully kept going.  I don't think I can take it out in public again, to avoid embarrassment.

Next we went to Costco and I used the carts and left my worn out stroller in the car. I don't know if everyone feels this way all the time, but at Costco, half of the taster testers, I considered buying.  I obviously have more will power than that, so I didn't.  But, has anyone else tried those Fruit Source bars?  They are SO Good!  And probably worth it to buy in bulk??
Nothing else to note except that Peaches are in season and this makes me happy!

When we finally arrived home, Nix was complaining about his tummy hurting from eating too many snacks.  And I know that he doesn't over eat so there is more to the story.  I took the trash out with Tino and when I came back in the house, Nix was standing next to the toilet crying with a puddle of pee around his feet.  So I put Tino in his crib and went to clean up the mess in the bathroom.  I ended up giving Nix a bath and after that he just kept complaining about hurting everywhere.  I kissed his forehead and it was warm, so I took his temperature.  He has 100.8˚ temperature.  So I took his pants off, and he went to bed around 4 pm.

Hopefully he's fine and it's not the swine flu, not that I think that it would be, and hopefully this doesn't ruin my whole night.  Now it's just me and Tino, waiting for daddy to come home.
Well Nix did wake up and I put on a movie for them, which I don't normally do on Thursday, but today turned into a sick day.  Daddy came home and Bar-B-Qued Salmon.  Uncle James and Aunt Amy came over with the girls and we all had a nice dinner.  Nix laid on the couch all night until he fell asleep.  I slept on the couch with him until 4am, he woke up and said, "I want to sleep in my bed.  You didn't brush my teeth mama."

That is so sad that he got sick! Hope he is feeling better now. Love your report, love to hear what you are doing-even the wheel falling off the stroller-made me laugh that you were just kicking it back on! I love where you live too, plan to visit this summer since we have no babysitting and no school, YEAH!!!!

What a day.... why do things like that all have to happen at the same time? Of course I guess it's better to get them all over with in one day than to have to have crap happen at least once every day of the week... right?
